PROGRAMMING ROLES

Yay we're saved by Poa Seng during prototype day!

We have to show the "ALPHA" by next Friday, November 14th, so to put it: ALERT!!! (we're screwed > <) As a reminder, all of the group members have to code despite the assigned roles, so here's the coding assignments, DEADLINE ASAP before next Friday:

Poa Seng : Menu, 1/2 main character behaviour
Chris : 1/2 enemies behaviour + trap
(Jellyfish, Octopus, Squid, Hammershark, Sawshark, Arrows, Whirlpool)
Joon : 1/2 main character behaviour
Irene : 1/2 enemies behaviour + trap
(Crab, Pufferfish, Stingray, Great White Shark, Clamshell, Moray eel, High-speed stream)

SHORT DESCRIPTION about coding:

  • Main character behaviour: Swimming movement, picking up items, taking damage, death, throwing weapons (starfish, ink, harpoon), riding manta ray
  • Enemies behaviour: According to its own species
  • Traps: Moray eel will attack and trap the main character under certain distance, whirlpool will catch main character, spin(rotate), then throw the sprite down

MORE JOB: (!!!)

Prioritize at the job on hand right now then do this:

  • Designer: Design story for cutoff scenes
  • Artist: Draw loading screen and cutoff scenes and bubbles, lots of bubbles!!!
  • Programmer: Code, code, and code...?!
  • Producer: Keep track of everything and make sure things are done for alpha next week!!!

And btw, I'm Chris, I know my writing sounds like a girl but this is still me, my English is so much better now, right?!

Job Description Note

PRODUCER:
  • Make a timeline/schedule for the team members to work on
  • Decide a group meeting time (weekly preferable???)
  • Give the team member a to-do-list and deadline

LEAD PROGRAMMER:
  • Provide info for the team about possible codes and the "Do-able" factors for game elements
  • Come up with the necessary codes to start the game making process

DESIGNER:
  • Continue solidify the current theme and ideas for the game
  • Finish the details of the story and game elements, then share with the group for feedback and approval

ARTIST:
  • Come up with concept arts
  • Finish the initial art/animations for early programming process
Some small notes we might need for a start before the real timeline, please do correct me if something not written correctly or do edit the post if needed.

Ook people, the role/position has been established and we had a team name, the project pitch is over so we have to solidify this ideas, improve, and most importantly start working on it.

Everyone is encouraged to make posts and update the stuff in this blog, any question, ideas, sketches, concepts, codes, etc. Please do share and put it on so every team members can see. No need to be fancy, just share anything and we'll give feedback and discuss it during group meeting.

For Chris and Joon, please do post in English, if you had to do it in Korean, do give us translations and notes below it or under a different post.

One more thing, please add labels to the post so it's easy for us to find what we need in the future, this blog's going to get messy!
